The tool electrode used in CNC EDM hole popper machining is equivalent to the forming tool used for machining. It directly affects the dimensional accuracy and geometric shape of the machining. It is the basis of machining. No good tool electrode, no matter how good other conditions are, and cannot process a good hole shape, so the tool electrode occupies an important position in the machining of CNC Drill Machine EDM, and the electrode for high-speed small hole EDM also occupies an important position, and must meet the following requirements:

1. Electrode material of CNC EDM hole popper

    The commonly used electrode materials for equipment processing small holes are brass tube and red copper tube. The commonly used electrode copper tube size (outer diameter) is 0.2-4 mm. It is recommended to use brass tube for processing small holes of general materials. It is recommended to use red copper pipes for the holes of solid alloys.

2. Electrode performance of CNC EDM hole popper

(1) The electrode has good linearity and uniform dimensional accuracy;

(2) The electrode material has stable performance and is not deformed by discharge or processing;

(3) It has a certain rigidity (elasticity), can withstand a certain external force, and can be deformed after being subjected to an external force. It can quickly return to its original state. The electrode of the CNC small hole drilling EDM is a micro-capillary tube, which cannot be applied with external force. It is required to be handled lightly lightly;

(4) The electrode copper tube hole is smooth and unobstructed, and the tube wall thickness is uniform.

(5) The end face of the electrode copper tube is cut by wire cutting EDM, and the processed surface roughness is not lower than Ra 1.6um.
